So this year I was a horrible, horrible love person. I did nothing for any of my beloveds this V-Day. That was partially because I had a special visitor named Mom. And partially because I was thinking more about the Presidents Day break (afterall, I get THAT holiday off). However, my un-valentines dayishness is inexcusable when I consider the fact that so many of you enjoy the day so much and also, when I see that so many of you did some pretty awesome stuff for the holiday.
I'm such a silly head!
That said (and oh, I said it), I've decided to declare this Tuesday--
St .Nibby Day: The Other Love Day (c).
So, you be on the lookout! The colors are purple, pink, aquamarine, and champagne. See? Now I'm giving you LOTS of clothing options. That 'other' holiday needs to step it up and give its A-Game, because I just got Channing Tatum AND Jamie Fox on team St. Nibby Day, so you KNOW its a right brawl now.
WTYL (word to your lover),
Nibby
PS) And BOTH Nicholas Sparks AND Gary Marshall have agreed to pen a book and direct a movie about it. Whatcha gonna do, huh? huh? I thought so.

...And then Alice went to Malibu.
Wouldn't it be cool if there was a line in Alice in Wonderland that stated: "And then Alice went to Malibu." Yeah, that's what I think, too.
Anyway, I went to Malibu yesterday with my new rad roommate, Tiffani. I had crazy amount of work to do during the evening, but out of the blue, we bit the bullet as we were walking out of church. I said, "Malibu is 45 minutes away...wanna go? I've never been." And since Tiffani is awesome, she said, without any hesitation, "Of course, why not? It's a ridiculously beautiful day." So we did.
We got there at Sunset and it was kind of like being granted permission to heaven as a visitor.
I wasn't expecting that.
Malibu is incredibly low-key and deceptively decadent. Very cool. It was a fun adventure. What's even funner (yep) is that I never remember to put towels in my car EVER, or really, any sort of helpful supply. So when we walked the beach, we honestly had NO place to wash our feet before getting back inside my dream-mobile (ok, not really). So we were both church-clothed and sandy-footed.
Oh well, it wouldn't have been as legitimate if we didn't bring back some REAL Malibu sand on our tootsies.
Annnnnnd we're off,
Nibby
PS) When I was a kid, I thought that Malibu didn't exist. I thought it was a part of the Barbie dream world. Same thing with Daytona Beach and Kokomo. Go figure.

She came, we experienced, we were happy, she returned.
So, it's been quite a few days, but here we are, two weeks after a nice MLK weekend. I think that my friend Coryn perfectly summed it up on her blog, but I thought I would add my two cents as well. Or maybe just 1 cent.
It was amazing. Coryn is the kind of friend that everyone should have. An adventuruous friend, a curious friend, a kind friend, an understanding friend, a sassy-when-she-needs-to-be friend, and of course, the kind of friend you can appear to have epileptic seizures with in the car when you've had a severely awesome celebrity sighting. That is the kind of friend that everyone needs.
I would have to do a separate blog entry for each crazy and awesome adventure of our trip, but I'll try to be brief.
Here are some pictures of the adventures:
I am a particular fan of that last picture. It looks very Pacific Northwest and/or Cape Cod, Cape May, Cape everything.
Well, I really am back and I promise to post more about all of the adventures. I swear, in the last two weeks alone I feel like I've reached my life's quota for adventure.
As my friend Amanda always said when I would ask her how she was: "Too much awesome is how I am."
Toodles,
Nibby

One Adventure & I will report back with the bigger ones.
Just thought I'd let everyone know that today I learned how to untangle a phone cord. It is actually quite a stupid thing that I didn't know how to do it before, but its nice to say that now I am among those in the world who can successfully untangle a MANGLED phone cord.
My phone cord looked liked that but only worse. Seriously, I couldn't even pick up the phone by 4:00 today.
So, I had my trusty coworker Dan come and show me how to tame the tangle terrifically, and that he did. Within a matter of seconds, he pulled the phone off the hook, let it dangle towards the ground and let it slowly but surely untangle itself. It was beautiful, and yes, a little embarrassing in its obviousness, but come on, who uses regular phones anymore? I'm going to let you guys in on a little secret, CELLPHONES ARE THE WAVE OF THE FUTURE! Don't tell anyone or Doc will kill me, I was only supposed to be watching his house for the week in exchange for the use of his mega-amplifier....but oh,what I found out.... He should have never shared the time traveling technology with me!
On another note, my ultimate besty, Coryn, is coming into town this weekend and the adventures will be endless! I will let you know of our adventures and see if she will share some of hers in her own words. Also, she will be helping me complete #5 on my new year goals list. Suhwheat.
Arrrr me mateys,
Nibby
PS) My other favorite coworker Christina just brought me out a cookie that completed me. I might not need anything else to be happy. Scary thought, isn't it?

"Once she remembered trying to box her own ears"...
As promised, here we are after the jump, and here are the pictures and details of my trip.
It was my first Vegas wedding which ended up being so pleasant and fun, and I was very glad I was given the opportunity to participate. Everything went on without a hitch, oh, except for there were two people who got hitched...so besides that...there was a lot of glitz and glamour and really pathetic gamblers. We had a super cool chandalier thingy in our lobby.
Our hotel had a shark tank waterslide which ended up being so much cooler than I'd imagined.
Shortly after the wedding, the couple that we were riding with informed us that the Pawn shop from the History channel's reality show Pawn Stars was right down the corner. We were intrigued and we immediately parked and gave the place a gander.
The Shop
The Show
Turns out that the stars of the show were in there, shifting their time from actually selling things to people and taking pictures with fans. The TV crew was there too, and several signs told us to smile because we were on camera. The couple we were with were so excited that they ran up to one of the stars of the show and grabbed a picture.
Anyway, it was a fun adventure as the things they get in their pawn shop are pretty out of this world...like a $100,000 2001 Superbowl ring....etc.
But I liked these pretties....(I know, the purple needs to stop)
All in all, it was quite an adventurous weekend and I am glad I was invited, and needless to say, I I listened to Leaving Las Vegas by Sheryl Crow on my way out. I know it's beyond cheesy, but I don't think I've ever left Vegas WITHOUT listening to it. Give it a listen.
Kisses,
Nibby

Oh, Mr. Rabbit?
Went to my first Vegas Wedding this weekend. So, that deserves a place on my firsts list (conveniently located on my sidebar for your enjoyment). It was a lot fun. However, we went on a few adventures within adventures in Vegas, and its true what they say, things stay there: I murdered several people and their bodies have not been found....yet.
I will post photos of it after the jump.
Now, in the tradition of many of my friends , but mostly Coryn, I will list a few of my goals for the New Year --ADVENTURE GOALS!
1. Go Abroad
2. Go to the Getty Museum
3. Go to San Francisco
4. Tour the Huntington Gardens
5. HAVE CORYN COME VISIT (and party like Pop Stars...they seem to get into more trouble).
6. Take an impromptu last minute trip to somewhere exciting.
7. Take an impromptu last minute trip to somewhere un-exciting
8. Finally visit Oregon and Washington State
9. Start a dinner group (once a week)
10. Watch two movies a week (my film watching has been cut ridiculously down lately, not ok!)
11. Write reviews on said movies
12. Learn to play Texas Hold'em (For fun & so I'm not confused in Paul Newman movies anymore)
13. Get a leg up on my dream job
14. Finish, polish, revise and complete a feature film script (AGAIN).
15. Learn to play Hearts like a champion, and then school some people...they know who they are.
16. Seriously start writing that novel that has been eluding me for years.
17. Read The Catcher in the Rye (never done it, need to)
19. Premiere my film short film, Lest We Forget.
20. Send Lest We Forget to some festivals
21. Learn to be REALLY, and I mean REALLY good at Rock Band. Mind blowingly good.
These are just a few.
Ciao,
Nibby
PS) Still no Cod Liver Oil yet. It's been busy. I'll let you know as soon as I've tried it though. Also, no reality TV stars yet...what's WRONG with me?
I will post photos of it after the jump.

`Curiouser and curiouser!' cried Alice
I went on a very unwilling adventure last night, but did some new and potentially exciting things along the way. I felt like it deserved a spot here on the blogenture, as I have not yet tried Cod Liver Oil or met any VH1 reality TV stars.
For some reason, my body wanted to go on an adventure yesterday that I definitely didn't want to join. For no reason whatsoever, I began to gag and dry heave at work yesterday, shortly after I took a sip of my water. The water had been there all morning with me, I had taken sips before with no problems, and suddenly I was heaving and asking for my mommy.
But, it was short lived and I moved on.
Then, I decided to hit the hay super early last night - which is an adventure in and of itself these days; 2am has been the norm. But I had hardly been asleep for 15 minutes when I woke with the overwhelming feeling that my food wanted to come out through the same place it came in. So I ran to the bathroom and just gagged and heaved. I couldn't miss work, so I knew I needed something fast.
Thus, new adventurer that I am, I decided that for the first time in my life, I was not going to let the nausea beat me, and I quickly got on my computer (gagging all the way) to look up anti-vomit tips. And a few were quite useful.
The first adventure was to get in a steaming hot shower, with focus on my stomach, and let the heat draw the yuckies down into my tummy, and calm them there. It worked beautifully...for about 20 minutes.
The next remedy was peppermint tea. I had some on hand so I took some of it. It worked quite well.
The very last instruction was to literally sit or lay still and breath deeply in through my nose and out through my mouth. I did that for about 25 minutes, and after that the nausea was but a slight headache, and I fell asleep.
Let me just say that I highly recommend all of those methods to my readers when you are next adventuring down the nausea isles.
Happy Travels,
Nibby

"Down, down, down. There was nothing else to do..."
My friend Krissy asked me what kind of adventures I was looking for on this blog. Well, I'm glad she asked. The answer? It's anything and everything. Of course, for me, going to the Post Office to figure out how to ship strange shaped items is an adventure. But the only thing that will make it adventurous to someone else will have to be the flourishes with which I give the tales.
And before I get ahead of myself, here is a recently past adventure that I simply could not omit from this blogenture.
About a week ago, I partook in three different games with my boytoygoogilybearhoneybunchesofoats. All three games I had never before played. Although the game of Hearts was quite the adventure, I will have to dwell on the adventure that was this:
It might come as a shock to some of you, but I had never before played the game of Shuffleboard. And to some of you, this might seem like no biggie. But I wanted BLOOD! I was in that game to win that game. It took more strategy, balance and trash-talking than most games I have played, and that's saying something. My mushgushycuppycake and I played against a few other competitors that brought the ugly out of me a few times, especially as I found myself snarling, "Destroy them!" like a straight up Tolkien Orc. But overall, I left the game feeling like I had just accomplished something on my life list, and to me, that deserves a place on this blogenture.
Does anyone else have a similar experience with said game, or a game like unto it? Please share and let other readers either get a kick out of it, or feel inspired by it.
Next on my adventure agenda? Taking lemon flavored cod liver oil. However, my friend Tyson would also like me to split my focus and try to meet VH1 Flavor of Love's, Tiffany Pollard. I will keep you apprised of the results.
See you through the looking glass,
Nibby

Followed The White Rabbit and Here We Are
Greetings,
This is something new that I trying out. New year, new blog, New Zealand. You may be wondering why I have chosen to start a new blog. There are a number of reasons, all of which would bore you, so suffice it to say, this is the maiden voyage of a blog that I am dedicating entirely to my new goal in life: adventure. Yes, this is an adventure blog. Many people I know have told me that I should have a blog that fits a purpose or has an angle, so this, my friends, is a blog that will only detail my adventures. Not sure if that's a good angle, but it might prove amusing.
Now, lest anyone think that I am a sky-diving, chain-saw juggling, future female quarter back, I must warn you: these adventures are...well...my kinds of adventures. Yes, these adventures will typically just be things I've never done, tried, said before, etc. Yes, occasionally I may do some crazy things, but for now, I warn you--things could get downright Bob Ross around here.
So, here, at the inception of this blog (something that I am calling a blogenture), I will lay some groundwork.
Nibby = my given birth nickname. There is no background to it, no rhyme or reason, all I can say is that my father is southern and comes up with all kinds of nonsensical names for everything he holds dear.
Next, yes, I just finished reading Alice in Wonderland for the second time in my life, and upon finishing, I realized that so much of my life, ever since I graduated and moved to this big, crazy city, feels a little bit like I have chased the white rabbit way far down the hole. And trust me, the things I experience are nothing less than that of Alice's Wonderland--that includes the good, the bad, and the hairy.
Lastly, I would like to take this time to extend to my readers (friends) this invitation: please feel free (more than free) to write out some adventures that you feel you have been upon or will be taking in the future. I want this blog to serve as a base camp, as it were, for all of us to share our exploits, deeds, excitements, dangers, braverisms and all sorts of fun.
Please involve yourself, as this will make this blog all the more worthwhile.
Yours in Earnest,
Nibby
